Nwoko Genealogy

The Nwoko Genealogy

The descendants of Nwoko trace their root back to Ologbo and Aluya, the two sons of Ogbeide, a Benin chief, who, for unknown reasons left Uzebu quarters in Benin.  Journeying East, the siblings briefly stayed in some towns and villages before finally settling in Idumuje-Unor.  At some point, Nwoko, one of Onaifo’s sons, his mother Moise, siblings and other individuals left Idumuje-Unor.  They settled in a farm outpost that was later called Idumuje-Ugboko. For a more detailed account of the ancestral root of the Nwokos, please refer to the history of Idumuje-Ugboko.

The family tree below shows the genealogy of these two brothers -Ologbo and Aluya. Their descendants Umu Ologbo (Ologbo’s Children) and Umu Aluya, (Aluya’s children) are the predominant lineages that make up the Uzebu and the Owu quarters of Idumuje-Ugboko respectively.
